The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce's Agribusiness Advisory Council seeks to advance and promote the Sioux Empire as an agricultural center through events that provide a higher visibility of the industry and programs to enrich the economic stability of rural society and those associated with businesses involved with agriculture.

Events throughout the year that capitalize on the council’s true purpose:

  • The Chamber-sponsored annual Sioux Empire Livestock Show, held in conjunction with the Sioux Falls Farm Show, features the latest in agricultural technology and the top livestock from across the nation. Close to 200 volunteers come together annually to make sure the Sioux Empire Livestock Show goes off without a hitch. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering!
  • Each year the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with nearly 100 area businesses, sponsors the Ag Appreciation Day luncheon at the Sioux Empire Fair. More than 3,000 area farmers take part in a free meal, which is served by volunteers on the Wednesday of Fair week from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • In 2018, the Agribusiness Advisory Council, along with community sponsors, introduced the committee’s newest annual event, National Farmer’s Day at the Barn. Being that most farmers will be in the field on this annual, nationally recognized day (October 12), the Chamber is committed to showcasing agriculture to the community at the free event.
